JAMES D. MORRIS (Chairman) is a fifth generation Texan and a second generation trial lawyer. He was educated at Baylor University and South Texas College of Law. A native of Orange, Texas, he practiced in Beaumont, Texas with the Provost & Umphrey Law Firm for 18 years before moving to Austin in 2006. He is nationally recognized as a preeminent lawyer in the products liability field with numerous trial victories. He is board certified by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization and has been continuously certified since 1991.He has been named to the Texas Super Lawyers by Texas Monthly Magazine for 2007 and 2008. He has tried cases to verdict in Texas, Arkansas, Pennsylvania, California, Tennessee, and Colorado. His last verdict in March of 2008 was a $29.8 million win against Wyeth and Pfizer. He is licensed in Texas, Colorado and Pennsylvania and is a life fellow of the Texas Bar Foundation.

VICKI FAUST (Treasurer) is owner/founder of "Tax Trailer" inc. representing over 650 small business & individual clients, specializing in tax & planning (refer to Wall Street Journal article) and part owner, Kimber Modern boutique hotel, (Refer to this weekend's Sunday New York Times "Business" section feature article) in downtown Austin. Ms. Faust Holds an MBA from Clarion University, MPA from the University of Texas at Austin and a BA in Economics from Shippensburg University... Formerly stock broker/investment advisor, IDS/American Express... Bulk Buyer & Store Manager, Whole Foods. Past Board, Cornerstone Community Center... Financial Advisor, Ross & Saunders School for Dyslexia, Austin... TNS Academy, Austin, among others... Other pro-bono tax advising via H&R Walker arm of "Tax Trailer" providing tax advisement to individuals in need. Other interests include coaching youth soccer (formerly with St. Stephens' Preparatory, including Tennis & Field Hockey)... Partnered 16 years, with daughter, Kenna (who is also a TexARTS student).
SCOTT LINGREN (2nd Vice Chairperson) - Scott Lingren has held executive management positions with Dell, Nokia, Engine X Networks, Clearwire Technologies, and AT&T where he has led marketing, product management and business development teams across all global regions. Scott has held several board director and chairman positions for arts and disabled children’s organizations. A University of Wisconsin graduate, he has an MBA in marketing and management, and has completed post-graduate studies with the University of Chicago, and AT&T Executive Education with Harvard University. Scott lives in Lakeway, Texas with his wife Theresa.

JENNY BUSCHHORN (Institutional Branding & Development) After 20 years in the marketing business, Jenny’s resume reads like a who’s who of major southwest advertising agencies. After early stints at McCann Erickson Worldwide and Temerlin McClain, she eventually found herself working at GSD&M. Following GSD&M, Jenny spent 9 years as the founder and CEO of The Business Planning Group at McGarrah/Jessee. Jenny’s true career passion was a little something called “positioning and strategic planning.” In plain English, that means figuring out who a business is, where they want to go and how they can get there. Her responsibility was to give clients a strong strategic foundation from which all marketing can be built. Jenny retired from professional marketing in 2007 and currently shares her time with family and various volunteer organizations. Her two daughters are devoted and enthusiastic TexARTS students!
JACK D. COWLING is a Senior Investment Manager and Director for Wells Fargo Alternative Asset Management, LLC Capital Partners Group. He earned his BBA in Finance summa cum laude from the University of North Florida and is a member of the CFA Institute and Investment Management Consultants Association. Jack has 15 years of experience in investment and risk management. He directs the overall investment research activities for the Capital Partners Group hedge equity and multi-strategy programs available to accredited investors. Both he and his wife Lisa are also active supporters of the arts in Central Texas. He is a Trustee on both the Finance and Marketing Commitees and is Vice Chair of the Endowment for the Austin Lyric Opera. He is pleased to be joining TexArts in its mission of providing performing arts education and entertainment in Austin and Lake Region.
LISA KEARSLEY COWLING earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Sociology from the University of North Florida and pursued an award-winning career in human services. She often utilized the arts as a means of bridging communication between urban cultures. Upon moving to Texas in 2001 she began her career painting, working, exhibiting, studying, supporting and teaching the arts. She has maintained a studio practice in Austin since 2002 and has studied in Florence, Italy and London, UK. She recently earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Painting from the University of M.H. Baylor. Beginning in 2005, she began exhibiting her popular series “Wings Apart”. Her work is in both private and public collections all over Central Texas. She begins her Master of Fine Arts Degree in 2008. She and her beloved Jack reside in the beautiful Hill Country of Central Texas and are active supporters of the Austin Lyric Opera and are proud to be joining the TexArts team !
JULIE FRIEDEWALD: (Community Outreach Committee) Community arts activist formerly professional dancer and actress onstage, film & television. Ms. Friedewald danced Off Broadway with Ginger Rogers and Dan Daily, regionally with Tommy Tune and Patrick Swayze and in various pieces with the Houston Ballet, among others. She studied under scholarship with the great George Ballanchine at the School of American Ballet in New York. BETTY HEWELL: (Fund Development) is a Director for Development, Principal Gifts, for the University of Texas at Austin, focusing on individual giving for University-wide program investment & growth. Formerly, Ms. Hewell served as a director of development at Rice University, helping to raise funds for the esteemed music program there. Ms. Hewell holds her degree from the University of Texas at Austin and is a proud wife & mother (whose daughter attends classes at TexARTS!)

THERESA LINGREN (Education) - Theresa is a new resident of Austin and looking to expand the reach and influence of the arts wherever possible. From 2001-2006 she was the Managing Director for the Dallas Summer Musicals School of Musical Theatre. Prior, she had 18 years of sales, marketing and business development with companies such as Baxter Healthcare, AT&T, and Bellcore. Theresa received a BA in Business Communications with a minor in Theatre Arts from the University of Cincinnati, and has completed post-graduate studies in business management. As a performer, she was featured in several industrial promotions and productions for companies such as Proctor and Gamble, Hoover and Lincoln Mercury and was a member of the Repertory Company Theatre in Dallas.
KAM MORRIS (Education) Founder and Owner of her own dance school in Beaumont Texas, and licensed franchise owner, Capezio Dance store. Kam has been active in several community enrichment programs in East Texas and now in Austin, and will continue her entrepreneurial focus shortly with the advent of her next Capezio franchize ownership in the Lake Regionin the coming year. She is a proud wife and mom (whose daughter also attends TexARTS classes!)
CINDY RAPISAND: (Capital Project Committee) – Principal, Bel Mondo Interiors, designer, project manager to several custom residential & commercial renovations & build-outs throughout the Austin Area. Formerly asset manager to over $65M in commercial property holdings, American Federal Bank, CPA. Volunteer for The American Cancer Society, Mobile Loaves & Fishes, among other. NICK RENNEKER: Founder & former C.E.O., PenCo Construction. Trained musician, performed with several prominent big-bands nationally prior to founding Penco in 1970. Mr. Renneker is active in several community-enriching programs including the Austin Symphony Orchestra.
